My name is Joshua Duncan. I'm a Digital Media Designer from Sydney.
Although on paper I recieved my graphic training through my Bachelor of Applied Design from Sydney's Billy Blue college of Design, I have been creating moving graphics and websites since I was 15 and look forward to creating and designing many years into the future.
As well as completing my degree over the last three years I have also been working as a freelance designer. Every client I get is a new opportunity to explore new ideas and design outcomes that are worked out carefully through client meetings and proposals. Other than design I love analogue photography, playing football and I also seem to have a weird obsession with moustaches. All the work displayed in this portfolio is a mix of college work and live projects that I have completed throughout the last couple of years. Enjoy!

The Brief:
This brief was to create a set of movie titles. My chosen movie was what I titled 'Black Cannon', the story of a struggling, drug addicted musician. I took great care to recreate the actual sheet music and timing of the original piece in my animation.

The Brief:
As a major work we were able to create anything we wanted that would have some commercial value. I decided to create an interactive drinking board game that was a comeback of classic 90's title "Nightmare". The game is fully playable!

The Brief:
This website was set up using the Prestashop shopping cart software. I customised much of the existing template and did data entry for the 505+ products. I also run their social media marketing, running Facebook ads and monthly competitions.

The Brief:
These guys just needed a small sized website to show off some of their home made products and have an order form for the parents to use. They wanted it to look crafty and be very colourful, as well as use some of the actual fabrics from the clothes.

Atlantis Aquatic Swim Centre

The Brief:
Atlantis needed a website to draw in new customers and as a spot for current customers to go to be updated. It has a mailing list signup form which keeps all users emails in a database and a custom gallery which they can personally update.

The Brief:
This was an open animation brief that's only specification was that is had to be at least 30 seconds. My animation ended up going for over a minute and I even created the little jingle at the opening titles in garage band.

Larcombe Memorials

The Brief:
Larcombe Memorials is a monumental masonry (that's right, they make tombstones!), who needed an website to keep up with their competitors. It is decked out with a gallery with over 1000 images so clients can select their stone before even coming in.

The Brief:
After choosing a social issue and finding a way to raise awareness for it we were asked to create all collateral relating to our event. For Crossing the Bridge, which was about Indegenous Australian equality, I created a CD, Poster, Badges, Style guide, bag and a website.
